Quote Intelligence: How AI Helps You Decide Faster on Freight Quotes

When five vendors submit quotes ranging from $4,200 to $9,800 for the same shipment, which do you trust? Logwo's quote intelligence flags outliers and explains why — so you spend less time analysing and more time deciding.

You send an RFQ to six freight forwarders. The quotes come back over the next 48 hours. The prices range from $4,200 to $9,800. They all quote the same lane. Why is the spread so wide?

This is the daily reality of freight procurement. Quote variance is real and often legitimate — different routing, different carrier partnerships, different included services, different currency exposure. But identifying which outlier is a mistake and which is a competitive offer takes time and expertise.

Logwo's quote intelligence is built to compress that analysis time.

How quote intelligence works

The moment quotes arrive, Logwo calculates statistical benchmarks for the incoming quote set:

  • Median price across all submitted quotes
  • Standard deviation of the spread
  • Distance of each individual quote from the median

Quotes that fall outside a defined threshold — significantly above or significantly below the median — are flagged with an outlier badge in the comparison dashboard.

The flag includes a plain-English explanation. Not just "this quote is an outlier" but "this quote is 41% above the median. Common causes: declared transit insurance included, different port of lading (Antwerp vs Rotterdam), or a different carrier tier."

What outlier alerts actually tell you

A high outlier isn't automatically a bad quote. The forwarder who quotes $9,800 when the median is $6,100 might be the one who actually delivers on time on this lane. Their price reflects the quality of their routing or their carrier relationship.

A low outlier is worth scrutinising. A quote that comes in 35% below the median on a lane where service levels are consistent across providers warrants a question: what is included, what is excluded, and what happens if the cargo is delayed?

Quote intelligence surfaces these questions automatically. You decide what to do with them.

The explainability requirement

Logwo's quote intelligence is built on a core design principle: every flag must be explainable. The system never just marks a quote red and leaves you to infer why. Every flagged quote shows:

  • The percentage deviation from the median
  • The direction (above or below)
  • A plain-English list of the most common causes for that type of deviation on that freight mode

This makes the tool useful to freight professionals who understand the market, not just to data analysts. You can validate the AI's reasoning against your own market knowledge.

What quote intelligence does not do

It does not make a recommendation on which quote to accept. It flags statistical anomalies and provides context. The decision to accept a higher-priced quote from a trusted forwarder over the lowest bid from an unknown vendor is yours — as it should be.

Plan access

Quote intelligence is included in the Business and Enterprise plans. On Free and Starter plans, the full comparison dashboard is available — all quotes are visible with price, transit time, validity and notes — but the statistical outlier flagging is not active.
